Cross-Cultural Immersions

St. Jane House is available to host high school and college students for weekend or week-long cultural immersion/service learning opportunities.  Recently students from Creighton University in Nebraska stayed at St. Jane House and participated in a week of cross-cultural experiences that included prayer and an interfaith dialogue with Imam Dukuly at the Masjid An-Nur mosque, listening to Mary Johnson tell her powerful story of healing and reconciliation with the young man who murdered her only son, experiencing “A Day in the Life” of the homeless through St. Stephen’s shelter, sharing breakfast with Kenny Scales, a NAZ family connector, joining the Urban Homeworks grad. community for “House Church”, as well as volunteer opportunities at Alafia Place and Casa Guadalupana, time with the Visitation Sisters and more.
