About the event
Black Madonnas have been a source of inspiration and devotion throughout Christian history. For over four decades, artist and author Brother Mickey McGrath has brought these sacred figures to life through his vibrant artwork. His recent book Madonnas of Color, celebrates Mary, the mother of Jesus, and offers a message of love triumphing over fear in our divided world.
Join us ONLINE where Brother Mickey will share his luminous paintings and digital art of the Virgin Mary, explaining the stories and inspirations behind them. During this event, live from his studio in Camden, NJ, Brother Mickey will showcase a collection of images that reflect the historical and contemporary significance of Madonnas from diverse cultures and backgrounds. From Chartres Cathedral to Bangalore, and from India to Mexico to South Dakota, these Madonnas of Color symbolize birth, death, and rebirth in the mystical garden of life.
